Youth are the greatest force of any nation seeking true development. In Tanzania, young people under 35 years make up more than 35% of the total population — the largest group compared to any other age bracket. This gives them a major responsibility to protect peace and ensure it is always safeguarded.

Peace is not a luxury but the greatest capital for the youth. Without peace, there are no schools, no businesses, no job opportunities, nor development in technology and agriculture. Youth are the primary beneficiaries of peace. They are the ones who will have the opportunity to learn, innovate, work, and build their families in a safe environment. When peace is threatened, it is the youth who lose the most — their time, dreams, and future.

Tanzanian youth are the builders of the New Tanzania. They bring new ideas, digital innovation, and the power to drive change. Through education, entrepreneurship, arts, sports, and technology, they can create a nation of equality, justice, and sustainable development. However, to achieve this, they must be fierce guardians of peace. They must reject hatred, divisions, and violence. They must promote unity, dialogue, and reconciliation in families, schools, streets, and online platforms.

The government, parents, and all leaders must empower youth by creating enabling environments. But the youth themselves must take action. Every young person should be an instrument of peace and development — exercising patience, offering wise opinions, and collaborating on development projects.

The New Tanzania will be built by youth who have peace in their hearts. Peace is their greatest capital. Let us preserve it, protect it, and use it to create a better future for all generations.
