In a world shaken by geopolitical tensions, the ongoing conflict in the Strait of Hormuz between Iran and its allies has caused significant global repercussions. Oil prices have surged dramatically, triggering sharp inflation in the cost of essential goods. In many countries, this has led ordinary citizens to protest, resulting in demonstrations, violence, and a rise in crime. People are suddenly slipping into poverty, businesses are collapsing, and social peace is increasingly fragile.

However, Tanzania has an opportunity to stand out. Our rich history of peace and stability gives us the chance to become an island of calm in a sea of turmoil. Yet this opportunity will only be realized if we refuse to allow hatred, division, and selfish politics to take root. National unity is our strongest weapon in these challenging times.

When we stand united, it becomes easier to collaborate with the government in solving our own problems. The government cannot achieve anything without the cooperation of its citizens. Together, we can jointly address rising food prices, strengthen our agriculture, support small businesses, and protect our peace. When we are divided, our greatest enemy is ourselves.

Fellow Tanzanians , men and women, youth and elders , let us become one. Let us abandon words of hatred and division. Peace is not empty rhetoric; it is a tool for development. Let us safeguard our unity just as we have protected our nation since independence. In this era of international crises, our unity will be what enables us to emerge victorious.

Let us live in peace. Let us live in unity. Tanzania First!
